The following is the schedule of projects that the beautification committee will be working on this year. If you would like to help out with any of these projects, please contact Kevin Venhaus at 277-1833 or kcvenhaus@mchsi.com.

 

Schedule

April 10th 8:30 a.m. (and maybe the 11th depending on how much gets done on the 10th) - Prepare new perennial beds on the east and west side of 35th and Kingman Blvd. for planting, clean up beds on 31st and Kingman and  25th and Cottage Grove.  (If weather does not permit, this will be move to the 17th and 18th)

April 24th and 25th, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. - Drake Neighborhood Perennial Plant Sale.  (Hopefully we will be able to use the lot at Papa Johns Pizza again this year)

May 15th, 9 a.m. - Pick up DNA annuals from the city. Individuals who have ordered plants can pick them up at 1004 40th Street after noon on Saturday the 15th. Please try to have all orders picked up by 6 p.m. Sunday the 16th. If you can not pick up your annuals this weekend or have any questions please call Kevin Venhaus  at 277-1833 or e-mail kcvenhaus@mchsi.com.

May 16th, 9:00 a.m.- Planting annuals on end caps at 42nd, 35th and 31st and Kingman Blvd.

May 22nd & 23rd, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Plant perennials at the new 35th and Kingman Blvd. beds.

October 16th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Plant tulip bulbs in the 35th and Kingman Blvd. beds.

November 6th, 10 a.m. - Fall cleanup on al Kingman Blvd. gardens.
